I told you before (click for the previous post), the glitter Miu Miu booties are going to be a hit this year. They are already in every spread. Miu Miu made them in various colors and also made them in suede instead of glitter. See the shoot in Elle Turkey August below and look closely for the shoes :)

I did not like the black ones but I think I'm slowly falling in love with the pink ones. And the yellow ones.

Let me tell you, I honestly don't like to post a lot about celebrities as I really don't want my blog to be about them. But in situations like this I just can't keep my mouth shut. Maybe it's been a long time, I haven't been paying attention to celebs lately, but apparently Dianna Agron got a haircut. And might I say she shouldn't have. She used to look so good with her long blonde hair. It's just a damn waste.

I know there are many things I might put in this section, but my first post on this will be "Shiny shoes". I really like the fact that all the attention is on your shoes and I will get me one of these stat. If you don't like silver, you can go with rose gold as well. Come on, buy one!!

I think I might be the only blogger without a Cambridge Satchel

(Galiba Cambridge Satchel'ı olmayan tek blogger ben kaldım :))


Another thing for this season is having a satchel  (other things to come in a future post :)). Whether you buy it from Proenza Schouler or Mulberry or Balenciaga or Cambridge Satchel, just get a satchel. It would be even great for if you get it in a bright bright color. Well, when I was doing some research I saw that every single blogger has a Cambridge Satchel. If I put all the pics here, it would last for 3 pages. Believe me. And it made me think, "Holy crap, I think I'm the only one left without it." :). I really like the fact that you can write your initials and personalize it. I find little details as such to be really cute.

He is from Northern Ireland and is living in Venice Beach. He is now known by everybody who is a somebody in the fashion world and is under the radar of many. He first created raves when we saw Michele Obama sporting one of his pieces. Yes, it's Tom Binns. And he is now even on Vogue's most wanted. You might think he is so hip now because of the popularity of neon. But no, I looked at everyone of his collections. And they are beautiful. So I know that his reign will continue for a long time. At least before he goes cuckoo.

Unfortunately, I fell on Sunday and have hurt my knee. Bad. So, the doctor forbid me to walk or to go to work. You think I might be happy but sitting at home all day sucks (I can hear my boyfriend thinking "I was home for 20 days due to high fever!"). Well I'm sorry but you need to learn somethings for yourself. Anyhow, what can you do when you are either in bed or on the sofa all day? You blog. And/or, you paint your nails with your brand new YSL Yellow nail polish. So, when my boyfriend Gürhan came to visit me today (not with flowers but the August issue of Elle (of course, what else can you get me :) )), he saw my yellow nails. He said and I quote "Merve, these are disgusting.". I said and I quote, "But but but." I guess (if I get to go) I will need to have plain old red nails in Bodrum :) But don't think the fact that I paid a LOT to the YSL nail polish isn't hurting me :)

Ama sanmayın ki YSL ojelere verdiğim para içimi yakmıyor :))

I know, it's crazy hot out and the crazy girl is talking about furs. But I couldn't help myself. I needed to share this with you before fall so everyone is (somehow) ready. See Chiara Ferragni of the Blonde Salad. And then, look at all the green furs on the runway for Fall/Winter 2012. You will not be seeing me in a green fur coat or gilet, but you may see our finest fashionistas.

Then we started looking at those who matched their bags and shoes as no-nos. Then everyone started wearing their sandals with socks. One day we saw Reese Witherspoon with a black and navy dress and said nothing. And now, we have been introduced to another rule break. Welcome to red&pink.

I was looking at enmoda.com when I saw that Zeynep Tosun (a Turkish Designer) had a special collection for enmoda.com. I was interested and checked it out. There were some dresses and this belt and bracelet. To be honest, I did not like this. They look a lot like Hermes Collier de Chien. Yes the sides are different but don't you feel the middle is a little bit too influenced? Zeynep Tosun is a very successful  designer and I think she would be even more successful if she did not put out pieces like this. You might think the target clientele of enmoda.com would not understand the fact that these pieces look a lot like Collier de Chien but actually there are people who do know their shit.

(Geçen gün enmoda.com'a bakıyordum ve Zeynep Tosun'un enmoda.com için özel bir koleksiyon yaptığını gördüm. Merak ettim ne olduğunu ve bir bakiyim dedim. Birkaç elbise ve bu kemer ve bilezik vardı. Dürüst olmak gerekirse, beğenmedim Hermes Collier de Chien'e çok benziyor. Evet, kenarları faklı ama ortası sizce de çok fazla ilham alınmış değil mi? Zeynep Tosun çok başarılı bir tasarımcı ve bence bu tür parçalar yapmasa daha da başarılı olur. enmoda.com'un müşteri kitlesinin bunların Collier de Chien'e benzediğini anlamıcağını düşünebilirsiniz ama işini bilenler de enmoda.com'a giriyorlar.)

Tribal-ish Mini Skirts

The Resort Collections of many of our favorites (Balmain, Thakoon etc) included tribal patterns. However, before all the Resort collections were out, we had started seeing tribal-ish mini skirts floating in the air :) and also during Fashion Week in Paris. I really like these colorful little skirts. Especially on Ezgi of Luxuryshoppers.net. If you ever want to sport a mini skirt in the near future see that it is at least tribal-ish and colorful. Don't go safe with plain-old black.

After Carine decided to leave Vogue Paris, the fashion nuts (including myself) were devastated. Was this the end of her career? Was this the end of Vogue Paris? Would the sky be blue ever again?

Well, Vogue Paris survived with Emmanuelle Alt.

What was happening for Carine though was much more exciting though. She has since styled many of your favorite campaign looks (including Chanel Fall 2011 Campaign starring Freja (who else?)) and she wrote a book, she modeled for Barney's and bada bada bada. She was also rumored to go along with YSL, Dior and even opening up Harper's Bazaar Paris.

I don' know what you think of it but I find it too secure. I mean, flowers ok.. However, the colors chosen for the flowers are really "this season". Check out some of his designs as well!!!

It's so hot, I can't even think

I was out since this morning. Burcu honeyboo brought me my bracelet she bought me from Monica Vinader bracelet that I fell in love with (admittedly, I saw it on Evos). We had breakfast at House Cafe (whilst we were sweating like crazy) and then we continued our day to get her father a birthday gift. Anyhow, Burcu knew what she was going to buy and I went along with her. Sort of a street research. We went to Louis Vuitton. And, we decided that we don't like the brand anymore (except for the Mon Monogram Models). And Burcu even picked up a sandal and called it "Nine West Sandal" and made me burst out a laugh. Last but not least, while we were looking at key chains, I couldn't help myself and called them very bad (in fact the Turkish word I used cannot be properly translated, apologies). So, we continued our journey in Topshop and I bought another maxi skirt which will make my mom not so happy with me. Then we had coffee in Kitchenette and then went to Beymen. And fyi, I should be congratulated for not losing myself and buying those shoes. :)

(Sabahtan beri sokaklardaydım. Burcu kuşum Londra'dan gelirken aşık olduğum (Evoş'tan özendiğim haha) Monica Vinader bileziğimi getirdi. Kendisiyle House Cafe'de pişerek bir kahvaltı ettik sonra da Celal Amcacığıma doğum günü hediyesi koşusuna çıktık. Her neyse, Burcu'nun ne alıcağı belliydi zaten ben de peşine takıldım. Bir nevi sokak araştırması. LouisVuitton'a gittik. İkimiz de artık markayı eskisi kadar sevmediğimize karar verdik. (Mon Monogram Speedy modelleri dışında) Hatta Burcu bi tane sandaleti eline alıp Nine West sandaleti dedi ve beni kopardı. Son olarak da anahtarlıklara bakarken kendimi tutamayıp bunlar da fena kıro demek zorunda kaldım. Her neyse, yolculuğumuza Topshop'ta devam ettik kendime uzun zamandır peşinden koştuğum maxi eteklerden bir tane daha alarak annemin beni azarlamasını için bir sebep daha yarattım. Yolculuğumuz önce Kitchenette'de kahve sonra Beymen'de bakınmakla sona erdi. Ha bu arada, kendimi kaybetmediğim ve o ayakkabıları almadığım için bir alkış da sizden gelsin.)
