Under the Sea and In the Aquarium

(Denizin altında ve Akvaryumda)
Sometimes, within all the runway shows all the collections that we see, there is one that impresses us beyond all. I felt goosebumps on my arm when I saw the collection Sarah Burton so wonderfully prepared for Alexander McQueen SS 2012. Perhaps it's easy to see her inspiration but it's not easy to create a collection so beautiful inspired by nothing but what's way down under the sea - coral reefs and the sea weeds. Maybe you won't agree with me. Maybe you will think her inspiration is the mayhem under the sea, no matter what you think, the collection is what I would call pure genius. While I can hardly say this for the other designers who took over after legends, I find Sarah Burton to be doing amazingly well and she is not having us thinking "Where did the creation go?".
While Sarah Burton's collection for Alexander McQueen SS 2012 is inspired by the sea and what's under it, Karl Lagerfeld's runway for Chanel SS 2012 was inspired by the sea and what captives the sea best - an aquarium and the pearls of the ocean. I saw the tweets during the show and the attendants were going crazy by his idea to put the show as if it was inside an aquarium. I hardly put two collections which are both beyond amazing together in one post, but I would feel really bad if I did not put the sea and the aquarium together.
Just look and you will be as amazed as I am right now.

Defile sırasında defilede olanların attıkları tweetleri gördüm onlar da bir akvaryumun içinde defile izliyor olmaktan dolayı çılgınlar gibi mutluydular. Normalde iki koleksiyonu çok zor aynı posta koyarım ama bu sefer deniz ve akvaryumu birbirinden ayırsaydım çok üzülücektim.)

I was going through Anna Del Russo's blog and I saw this post of the Logomania shoot for Vogue Japan November. I loved the Dior photo. Which led me to think, Logomania is seriously among us... Nevertheless, I want to share these photos taken by Massimo Gammacurta. Makes you want to eat them up right?
