I had a dream last night where I was buying snowboard pants and all kinds of ski accessories from Chanel. I thought this to be a warning from up there (yeah right! :) )  so I am now posting about Chanel Ski wear. Ski season is among us and I am one of those lucky girls who get to go to Meribel with daddy every year. Though my outfits have been from Bogner till now, my dream made me think about buying a pair of Chanel Apres-skis :)

We had heard that Hermes made coffee cup sleeves. Which I thought were for porcelain cups or some sort of home textile-y. But na-ah I was wrong. Turns out, they can also be used for your boring Starbucks cup. See here, I am using a sad Starbucks coffee sleeve where I could also sip my cup-o-joe with with my $190 sleeve. Or, if not I could have used my Jimmy Choo sleeve. Is it me or is luxury labels are going a wee bit too far? Or maybe some do like to drink $193 worth coffee. I don't get it. People! It will taste EXACTLY THE SAME. Jesus....

(Hermes'in kahve bardağı kılıfı yaptığını duymuştuk. O zaman ben bunun hani böyle porselen falan bardaklar için olduğunu sanmıştım yani ev dekorasyonun için falan. Meğer yanlış düşünmüşüm. Bu kılıflar bizim sıkıcı Starbucks bardaklarımız içinmiş. Bakınız bu resimde ben zavallı sıkıcı (!) bir Starbucks kahvesi içiyorum. Halbuki bu kahvemi 190$lık Hermes kılıfım veya Jimmy Choo kılıfımla da içebilirmişim. Bana mı öyle geliyor yoksa bu markalar biraz abartmıyor mu? Yoksa bazıları içtikleri kahvenin gerçekten 193$ olmasını mı tercih ediyorlar?  Anlamıyorum gerçekten. Hepsinin TADI AYNI OLUCAK arkadaşım! Allahım ya...)

Madeleines

I remember when I was in High School, I used to hate madeleines. But the reason for that was not because I hated the desert itself, but because I hated Marcel Proust. When you're studying in a French High School, they tend to shove every single French writer in your face as if you are supposed to understand and (if possible) love them. We were thought Marcel Proust and his theory on Involuntary Memory (which in French is called souvenir involontaire). We were supposed to read "In Search of Lost Time" of Proust, where the writer "involuntarily" remembers his great aunt each time he eats madeleines. You might think that it could not have been so painful but believe me, it was. Reading in French is hard enough, reading Proust in French (at the age of 17) is torture. But, I don't regret having that experience as now I love madeleines, especially cherry madeleines and each time I eat one I remember my High School which I miss dearly. You might find my little story here to have nothing to do with Fashion or my blog, but its my blog and I'm on a diet so all I can think about is food. So there :).

Lisedeyken mekikten hoşlanmamamın sebebi ingilizce ve fransız mekiklerin madlen olması ve madlenlerin Marcel Proust yazarının romanında en önemli rolü oynamalarıydı. Fransız lisesinde okuyorsanız, genelde bütün fransız yazarlar önünüze tek tek konulur ve bu yazarların yazdıklarını anlamanız (ve hatta mümkünse sevmeniz) beklenir. Biz de yine bu sebeple Marcel Proust'un "In Search of Lost Time" adlı romanının bir bölümünü okumak zorundaydık. (Hatta sanırım derste bir parçasını okutmuşlardı ve emin olun korkunçtu). Her neyse, bu hikayede yazarımız her mekik yediğinde büyük teyzesi aklına geliyor ve bu şekilde "istem dışı hafıza"yı buluyor. (Tam olarak Türkçesi doğru mu emin değilim, yanlışsa affediniz). Her neyse, şimdi mekike bayılıyorum hem de vişneli olanlara ve bu tecrübemden hiç pişman olmuyorum çünkü ben de aynı bu şekilde her mekik yediğimde çok özlediğim lisemi hatırlamış oluyorum. Belki de bunun modayla veya bu blogla ne alakası var diye düşünebilirsiniz, ama ben rejimdeyim ve sadece yemek düşünebiliyorum ve bu da benim blogum. :) )

Katie Holmes. Do you remember when she was the fashion icon? She cut her hair everyone cut her hair. She wore bf jeans, everyone wore bf jeans. However, she has managed to disappoint me. She is ice skating wearing one of the most worn sweaters of the season. Yes the Isabel Marant Yoan Alpaca Blend Instarsia Sweater. But if it were up to me, I would not wear them with flare jeans or boot cut jeans. Instead, I would go with skinny jeans. Maybe it would be the safer choice but I think she does not look good. She looks as if she just put on something and went out. If you're a celebrity you cannot not do that. Especially if you're Katie Holmes.

(Katie Holmes. Hatırlıyor musunuz bir zamanlar tam bir moda ikonuydu. Saçlarını kestirdiğinde herkes onunla birlikte kestirmişti. Boyfriend Jeans giydiğinde herkes onunla birlikte giymişti. Ama beni hayal kırıklığına uğratmayı başardı. Kendisi yukarıdaki resimde herkesin bu sezon giydiği aldığı hayal ettiği kazağı giyiyor. Evet Isabel Marant kazaktan bahsediyorum. Ama ben olsaydım bu kazağı geniş paçalı veya boot cut bir pantalonla giymezdim. Onun yerine skinny bir pantalon seçerdim. Daha kolay olurdu belki ama eminim daha güzel görünürdü. Bence Katie bu resimde herhangi birşeyi üstüne atmış özensiz görünüyor. Ve eğer ünlü biriyseniz bunu yapamazsınız. Hele de Katie Holmes'sanız hiç yapamazsınız.)

Some seriously ugly-ass shoes going on there. I love Louboutin shoes. But this collection puts the "u" to the "ugly". I'm afraid Mr.Loubi ran out of good ideas there. What the hell is that Bollywoody and the Devidas? I can see some ladies buying them just so they can look stylish and hip. But come on, do you really want to look like you glued all kinds of beads and mirrors or what not to your feet? No.

Ama gerçekten ayağınızda incik boncukçuda ne varsa alıp yapıştırmışsınız gibi bir görüntü ister misiniz? İstemezsiniz.)

Meet Constance Jablonski and Jacquelyn Jablonski. Two very beautiful ladies. However, even though they share a last name, they are not related. (killed the boys' fantasies there) Constance was born in France in 1990 and Jacquelyn in the USA in 1992. Which means they are both younger than I am and yet I adore them which is kind of funny (in a tragic way).

C. Wonder Fab or Fail?

The other day when I was reading the New York Times, I ran into the new article of Critical Shopper. The article was talking about C. Wonder, the label found by J. Christopher Burch. Who amazingly is the ex-husband of Tory Burch. The article claims that things are way too familiar at C. Wonder. Either be it familiar to Tory's brand or Longchamp or even Kate Spade. Of course, I wanted to see things for myself before jumping to the same conclusion with the Critical Shopper. I looked at the pictures on the web and the facebook page of the brand. I was going to say the brand is cool. But then I saw the Longchamp Le Pliage's C. Wonder version. Therefore, I'm afraid I will reach the same conclusion.

I know, white in winter, crazy right? No. Get used to it. With snow, out coats knits sweaters are now white. Yummy!

That poor poor Christopher Kane dress. It did not deserve to be worn like this. However, Yasmin le Bon did that to the Vertu event in London. The dress is lovely don't get me wrong, but her waist is too big for that dress. She does not look good. At all.

Did you get your slippers yet?

Everybody threw their ballerinas off and got them a pair of slippers. Slippers, those we saw on creepy old dudes wearing Ralph Lauren (and with colored socks). Yes we used to hate the sight of that guy but now we are adoring his slippers and we want to wear them. This guy actually looks good in them but you know that's not what I'm talking about. Btw, this Facebook page on wearing slippers is making me laugh. Nevertheless, I really like slippers. Those above are from Aldo and Topshop but you know the Louboutins or the Alexander McQueens are the winners of my little heart.

The Net-a-porter Sale (US) is here. Due to the problematic Turkish customs I don't shop from Net-a-porter but what I will do is give you great advice on what to invest during the sales. Sales shopping can be very dangerous and the prices may make you buy either something you don't need or something that will be out in seconds. Therefore, I invite you to be careful. What I also invite you to is buying these shoes if you want to dive in to the sale of Net-a-porter. These items will not be out of style next season (or next winter) or they will always stay as classics. So let's see;

These boots are a very classic model. You might not believe me but my mom had the same model from Free Lance ten years ago and it's still wearable. So believe me, you will never regret having spent $225 (which is the half of the original price!) for these boots.

So, don't let someone else buy those shoes before you do.

The rest, I am not so sure about. But, if they are shoes that you might consider wearing in the future, you can also go for the Platform Burberry Leather Wedges. They sold like bread this past season and you never know, even if I am not quite sure, I'm afraid they are here to stay.

Marni for H&M

Yet another dream collaboration from H&M! This time, it's the Italian label Marni. I was hoping for Prada but Marni will just do fine. These are the very first pictures of the women we should be thanking for the collaboration. It is announced that the collection will hit the stores on 8 March 2012. I don't know about you but I'm very excited! See the video for the collection to come!

As I might have told you 4232 times, Evos is getting married in January. So we're super-excited. I already bought the dress. Which I am totally in love with. But you will not see it until "the day". What I am now looking for is the perfect shoes to go with the dress. I actually own black shoes but I wanted to go a little different so I am currently shoe-hunting. I want something glittery, shiny and of course, glamorous. My dress is all black so I can go all nuts with my shoes. These are my choices.

(Bin kere size söylemiş olabilirim, Ocak'ta Evoş evleniyor. Bu yüzden çok heycanlıyız. Ben elbisemi aldım bile. Hem de gerçekten bayılarak. Ama resmini düğüne kadar göremeyeceksiniz. Şimdi ise elbisemle gidicek mükemmel ayakkabıları arıyorum. Aslında siyah ayakkabım var ama bu elbise tamamen siyah olduğu için biraz değişiklik katmak istiyorum. Bu yüzden şuan ayakkabı avındayım. Simli, parlak birşeyler istiyorum. Elbisem siyah olduğu için çılgın herşeyi deneyebilirim. Bunlar da seçimlerim!)

I love this dress Katherine is wearing. I also love her choice of tights. Even though I am not the biggest fan of lace tights, she looks just the right amount of hot. Kudos.

Massimo Dutti Winter Looks

The winter days are now here and this shoot made me feel so warm and cozy. Especially the coat. It's one of those days when it's so dark out and winter starts to show itself. So, all you feel like doing is curl up in your bed with the latest Vogue and a cup of coffee (or tea). And lookbooks like this just make me love winter. And let me tell you, even though I have the cold there's just something that I love about winter time. Maybe it's the fact that the snow being so white covers all the horrible things. Maybe it's because I was born in February and my body just feels a part of winter. Ok I will cut to the chase. I love this lookbook. Thank you Massimo Dutti and Fashion Gone Rogue.

When you're on a diet...

... all you can think about is food. Either dessert or fast food. Anything goes! But I've got Karl Lagerfeld to hold my hand through my misery. I have stopped eating chocolate which is quite painful and for the first time in my life I am thinking about switching to Diet Coke. I need to have patience though! Just look how cute! Colored cute clutches. They are sold in Beymen in Turkey and they have them in all the cutest colors. But I am trying not to be tempted. With all the items on my wish list I really cannot go and buy this. Or maybe can I? Hrr... Stay posted!

Lanvin Gift Shopping

My best friend's birthday has passed but if yours' is still a-coming and she is a fashionista, you must get her one of these (male fashionistas also apply)! Lanvin made these so cute porcelain figures which are perfect to give someone. Also, if a friend of yours just got married or moved in to her own place, I would definitely get one! You might think they are a bit expensive, so I also suggest the pen or the book or maybe the cards. The book is perfect to make a coffee table book and the pen is just one of kind cute. If you like me so much, you can also get one for me too :)
