Sunday night was awards night

Sunday night we had both the BAFTAs and the Grammys. I have one word to say: excited.

As you expected, I have some "Please don't wear that" selections. One is Fergie in Jean Paul Gaultier and the other is Shailene Woodley in Dolce Gabbana (this girl does not know how to dress).

I love this dress. Don't look so puzzled. I love the dress I hate Fergie in it. She is fat for this dress. Sorry. Don't hate me.

Viola Davis v. Cameron Diaz

Hello. I know I have not been posting lately -again. But today I'm going to make up for it. You will have so many posts in so little time.

So the first one goes.

Cameron Diaz wore this Chanel Couture gown to the Golden Globes in 2009. The dress was altered thanks to Rachel Zoe (being her stylist). Even though I thought the dress was better its original way, Cameron Diaz was adored by everyone. I am still skeptical. Nonetheless, when I saw Viola Davis with her Valentino dress I thought  I had deja-vu. I think the dresses look too much alike. 

I'm torn. Tell me what you think.

Prints prints prints (High Street Style)

Yello. With spring ahead I know you can't stop thinking about prints. When my heart wants to buy Erdem pants or a Chloe shirt, sometimes my wallet does not agree with my heart. So High Street Brands are the best way to go. You can never say no to a beautiful Zara shirt or a lovely Topshop dress. So here are some of my choices. 

(Merhabalar. Bahar yaklaşıyor ve ben biliyorum ki siz de desenleri düşünmeden duramıyorsunuz. Kalbim Erdem pantalonlar Chloe gömlekler almak istiyor olsa da bazen cüzdanımla aynı fikri paylaşmıyorlar. Bu yüzden daha ucuz markalar (High Street Brand dediğimiz) güzel bir seçenek. Kimse güzel bir Zara gömleğe veya şirin mi şirin bir Topshop elbiseye hayır diyemez. Benim seçimlerim bunlar.)

I know I should have posted this days ago but I was so busy. I basically knew what to write but I couldn't put it in a post so apologies. What we see here is a typical "I was going to the beach but I changed my mind and attended an award ceremony" .... I mean what the hell? I am thinking various adjectives but I will not loose my cool. The beads. The dress. The hair. Everything is a mess and not in a good way. She should have been turned around by the bodyguards. She couldn't event get into Reina (a bar) like that.

(Biliyorum bu postu günler önce yazmalıydım ama çok yoğundum. Aslında tam olarak ne yazmam gerektiğini ve ne yazacağımı biliyordum ama bir türlü bunu bir post haline getiremedim. Burada gördüğümüz tipik bir "Aslında plaja gidiyordum ama fikrimi değiştirdim ve ödül törenine katıldım" durumu.... Bu nedir ya?! Gerçekten aklımda bir çok kelime var ama sakinliğimi koruyorum. O kolye. O elbise. O saçlar. Aman yarabbim. Bence korumalar tarafından geri çevirilmeliydi. Bu haliyle Reina'ya bile giremezdi.)

Jessica Alba's Doo.Ri Coat

Let me tell you from the beginning. I don't like Jessica Alba. I don't find her beautiful and her acting is so-so. She is not someone whose style I keep an eye on. However, her Golden Globe Gucci gown was very beautiful. She surprised me with her choice. Another big surprise is her Doo.Ri coat. This green coat is very cool. The color and the fact that it is ombre (which reflects one of the latest trends) is a reason to give her two thumbs up. I also loved the outfit with the Erdem pants she choose. She will never make my list but that doesn't mean I cannot appreciate her cool look.

(En baştan söyliyim. Ben Jessica Alba'yı hiç sevmem. Kendisini güzel bulmam üstelik oyunculuğu da her zaman ehtir benim için. Stilini takip ettiğim ünlülerden biri de sayılmaz. Ama Golden Globe'a giydiği Gucci elbise çok güzeldi. Hatta şaşırttı beni bile diyebiliriz. Jessica Alba beni aynı zamanda giydiği Doo.Ri palto ile de şaşırttı. Yeşil olması ve tonunun gittikçe azalması inanılmaz hoşuma gitti, kendisine bravo diyorum. Aynı zamanda kıyafetinin tümünü de beğendim. Seçtiği Erdem pantalon da baya iyi. Her ne kadar kendisi listemde yer alamayacak olsa da elbisesini beğendim.)

Zara Navajo Pants that every blogger have

Yello. I hope you had a fun weekend. Mine was oh so dull. I'm sure you have seen these Zara pants everywhere. They are now owned by every blogger including Andy of Style Scrapbook, Sandra of 5inch and up and Leandra of Man Repeller (who is my favorite blogger btw).

These pants are now on sale at Zara so if you can find one grab 'em. Me, I'm gonna buy these if they fit me.

Stop SOPA and PIPA

You might have heard the words SOPA and PIPA around. The bills Stop Online Piracy Act ("SOPA") and its little sister Protect IP Act ("PIPA") are bills aiming to protect copyright and stop piracy. Those of you who have not heard of these two might think so what?

Well let me explain without boring you to death (as legal issues might be boring for those who don't have it as a job). SOPA and PIPA foresee that any material shared on the web which does not belong to those who share it are an infringement of copyright. Accordingly, those who share such materials (you, me, everybody) will be penalized in the U.S. You might think it has nothing to do with your country if you're not from the US, but the explanation might have you thinking again. 

The best websites of our generation are Youtube, Tumblr, Wikipedia, Twitter and Google (etc.) right? Yes. However, according to SOPA and PIPA bills, these websites are infringing copyright. They will not ban these websites don't get me wrong, but as sharing will be illegal, the websites will not be used. So, it's just as if they ban them. 

These are very very small repercussions of SOPA and PIPA. If you want to learn more, go to Wikipedia and you will see that the bills are idiotic and should NOT BE PASSED.
